An Investigation into the Association Between Gender and Perceptions of Safety on the UW Seattle Campus

Many studies have shown that there is a gender gap in the perception of safety in public spaces. I was interested to see if there was an association between gender and perceptions of safety at the University of Washington. I conducted a cross-sectional research study along with another student in Departmental Honors.

Investigation into Extended School Year (ESY)

This project continued a Key Informant report I conducted in Fall quarter 2020, where I identified several ways school closures impacted students with disabilities in Washington. I identified the extended school year (ESY) provision as a potential means to avoid further learning loss. In this report, I contextualized learning loss, explored ESY, brainstormed preliminary recommendations, and emphasized the importance of centering students with disabilities in decision-making.
